Medicare

Effective January 1, 2011, we will no longer be a Medicare participating provider

Q: What does this mean to our Medicare patients?

A: Medicare patients will be required to pay for services at the time of their visit. We will submit your claims to Medicare electronically and Medicare will reimburse you, the patient, directly. Payment is usually made within 2-4 weeks from the date of submission.

Q: I have Supplemental Insurance, how does that get submitted?

A: We will also continue to electronically submit to your Supplemental Carrier on your behalf. All reimbursements will come directly from them.

Q: If Medicare or my Supplemental Plan pays your office instead of me what happens?

A: We will forward any payments we receive directly to you.

We will continue seeing our existing Medicare patients and continue to accept new Medicare patients under these new guidelines. The level of reimbursement for each visit will depend on your individual Medicare plan's policies, annual deductible and the amount of additional coverage offered by your supplemental insurance.

Should you have questions specific to your situation please see Marlene privately.
